Is WordEdge free?
Yes. The whole learning loop is free: a starter set of curated lists, flip-card learning, every review mode, and unlimited standard pronunciation scoring with a daily allowance of cloud scoring. Pro adds more cloud scoring, the weak-sound drill and every curated list.
Which languages can I learn?
WordEdge is built for learning English: curated lists, the built-in dictionary and every review mode, with meanings shown in your own language where available. Pronunciation practice is also available in several other languages.
How is my pronunciation scored?
WordEdge compares your recording with the target pronunciation sound by sound, in the accent you choose to aim for. Most results arrive in a second or two. Cloud scoring is our most precise engine, with word- and phoneme-level detail; standard scoring is unlimited on every plan.
Will it mark my accent as wrong?
That is up to you. Tell WordEdge your native language and you can choose gentler feedback, which credits sounds carried over from it instead of marking them wrong — or keep strict scoring if you are aiming for a native-like accent.
What happens to my recordings?
By default, recordings are sent to our servers to be scored. We keep a copy so you can play it back — for 3 days on Free and 90 days on Pro — then delete it. If you’d rather keep recordings off our servers, choose "Always score on this device" in Settings: they’re scored on your phone and stay there. Your scores and sound profile are kept either way.
Does it work with ShadowEdge?
Yes. Use the same account, and words you save while shadowing in ShadowEdge show up in WordEdge, ready to learn and review.
Do I need to study every day?
No, but it helps. Set a daily goal and per-weekday reminders in Settings, and the streak tracks the days you actually practiced.
